Mothers Day around DeKalb County

Start the Mother’s Day weekend off right this Saturday with a Mother’s Day Wildflower Walk at the Natural Resource Center in Russell Woods Forest Preserve. The walk will be held Saturday, May 7th from 10 am – 2:00 pm. The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District will lead the Wildflower Walk at the Natural Resource Center in Russell Woods Forest Preserve, 11750 State Rt. 72 in Genoa.

On Sunday, O’Leary’s Mothers Day Brunch is back! Come to O’Leary’s between 9am – 2pm for a huge buffet brunch especially for Mother’s Day. Reservations are encouraged, please call 815-748-0000 to reserve your spot. A Masonic Mothers Day Breakfast Buffet will be offered on Sunday, May 8,  from 9am to 1pm, DeKalb Masonic Temple on Fairview & S. 4th Street.  For $8 a person ($4 for kids under 15, $20 for a family) you’ll enjoy: • scrambled eggs• sausage, bacon and ham• hashbrowns• pancakes, french toast and waffles• fresh fruit salad• biscuits and gravy• bagels with cream cheese• assorted juices• assorted cereals• coffee and milk. After food, how about a museum visit? Mother’s Day at Midwest Museum of Natural History is a special day. In honor of mothers, all moms and grandmothers will enjoy free admission on Mother’s Day from 12-5:00 pm.
