Did you enter the work force immediately after you graduated high school? After working for several years are you ready to re-tool and go back to school? If so, you may want to apply for the Renaissance Scholarship which will award $1000 to a DeKalb County resident who has applied for undergraduate study in elementary education, agriculture, health-care, horticulture or a communication related field. Evidence of interest in the area of study must be demonstrated.
The student should be active in public and civic affairs and is in need of scholarship assistance. The scholarship is applicable at any recognized university or community college for undergraduate study. It is a one year scholarship renewable for three years. Yvonne Johnson, Sycamore, has established a Renaissance Scholarship selection committee of citizens of DeKalb County to work independently to review all applications and select the scholarship recipient. They will make their selection free of political consideration and bias.
Applications are due June 30 at the DCCF office. Access the Renaissance Scholarship application here. For more information please contact Anita Zurbrugg, Program Director at 815-748-5383 or email@example.com .
