Last Friday, August 18, 2013, was a night for the Compact racing at the Sycamore Speedway. They featured a Demolition Derby plus a Figure 8 race. As described by a 5 year old girl who was watching the races with her grandfather, “The demolition derby was AWESOME!” Saturday’s racing was sponsored by 97.9 The Loop. They featured their Loop Race Car plus a guest DJ to broadcast on the radio live right from the Speedway. It was a fun night of racing and music.
For this coming weekend’s racing, Sycamore Speedway is hosting a Demolition Derby, Spectator, Compact and Powder Puff Racing, Figure 8 and 1-on-1 Drags for their Friday night’s show. Saturday night’s show is the Corn Classic, with special sponsorships from Honey Baked Ham. The Corn Classic is 36 laps on the ½ in honor of DeKalb’s Corn Fest. For both nights of racing, Gates open at 6pm, Time Trials at 7:15pm, and Racing at 8pm. General Admission is $12 for Adults, $5 for children ages 6 through 13 and for children 5 and under are FREE.
