The DeKalb Park District is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Ryder, as the District’s new Superintendent of Recreation.
A veteran of the Park District, Ryder recently celebrated his 25th anniversary. In his previous role as Athletic Supervisor he administered the District’s youth and adult athletic programs including baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, pickleball and most recently lacrosse. Ryder also was a strong advocate for building the District’s Sports and Recreation Center and has supervised the facility and programming since it’s opening 16 years ago.
“Familiarity of the District and the DeKalb community is an invaluable asset Bill contributes and I am excited to continue to work with him in this new role” said Amy Doll, Executive Director for the District. “He brings a wealth of knowledge in recreation programming and leadership skills to the position and I am confident that he will continue to move the District’s recreation division forward.”
“I’m looking forward to tackling the challenges the new position offers” said Bill Ryder. “My experience and knowledge will help me continue to serve the community and district in this new role.”
