Please join the Shabbona Hometown Events Committee and the community in celebrating our country’s Independence Day by participating in Shabbona’s 2012 Main Street Parade, followed by Shabbona’s Hometown Festival. The parade kicks off at 10am this Saturday, June 30th and runs through the Village of Shabbona.
The Shabbona Hometown Festival is a favorite among residents and visitors alike. Browse the tents and booths of local merchants for many types of arts and crafts. Carnival rides, moon walks, inflatable slides, magic shows, music and games of all sorts are sure to delight kids of all ages. Be sure to check out the petting zoo, which is always a big hit. Several food vendors will have booths on-site with a variety of offerings. An ice cream eating contest, puppet show and water fights bring back memories of old time festivals.
Come out Sunday from 10am-4pm for the Screamers Car Show. Then on Wednesday, July 4th, Shabbona’s Fire Department is having an “All You Can Eat” Pancake Breakfast and the Lions Club is doing a Pork Chop dinner. Wednesday evening at dusk are Shabbona’s fireworks at the beautiful setting of Shabbona Lake State Park.
