Five years ago, the NIU Convocation Center started the Convo’s Colossal Clean Sweep to bring the community together during tough economic times. The Clean Sweep has been a success; however, the name has not. Vendors and the community felt as though the name only caters to garage sales and not to the flea market and antique market segments. This year they will be changing the name to include flea market and garage sale.

So get ready because the 5th annual Convo’s Clean Sweep Flea Market and Garage Sale which will be this Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20th. They have extended the hours on Friday to be from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.. Saturday the Clean Sweep will be open from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Admission to the Clean Sweep is only $2.00 for adults and free for children ages 6 and under.

Did you do your spring cleaning and have some things to sell? Registration for the Convo’s Clean Sweep Flea Market and Garage Sale is still available. Individual vendor space starts at just $25.00 and commercial space starts at $50.00. The box office is open Monday through Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm. Please park in C2 and use Entrance 2.

Loading your things in and out of the Convo is as easy as 1-2-3 with the help of the motorized vehicles, push carts, and volunteers. Items prohibited from sale include, but are not limited to: guns, knives, contraband, fireworks, drugs, tires, suggestive material (ie pornography), alcohol, and animals.
