Water Works Opens New Location off Sycamore Road

waterworksAfter sixteen years at the 508 Pine Street location, Northern Illinois Water Works has made the move to a new building with expanded services for customers including a new water loading zone on the outside and a coffee bar sampling station on the inside. Their convenient new location is at 2155 Oakland Drive, just down the road from Ollie’s and right behind HyVee.

Along with the various things that good water improves, Water Works wants to show their customers that a secret to good coffee is the water that they use.  The Ion totally sealed drinking water system provides clean hot or cold filtered water continuously on demand and saves the Earth 8,000 sports bottles per year from ending up in the landfills with just a single filter. Another similar option is the Hellenbrand Millennium reverse osmosis drinking water system. On demand room temp water is dispensed from its own faucet on your existing sink. No more heavy bottles to change and water whenever you need it. They encourage everyone to stop in and try the difference for yourself.

Northern Illinois Water Works is carrying Door County coffee for sale in 20 different flavors, as well as a few decaffeinated flavors. Available in one pot packages, customers can try each flavor to find the one they like the best. Some of the flavors that have proven to be favorites include; Jamaican Me Crazy, Irish Crème, Vanilla Crème Brule, Highlander Grogg and the Breakfast Blend.

Loading water has become even easier for their customers with the new “drive up” style loading area. No need to bring those bottles inside, just pull up, pop your trunk and Water Works will unload the empties and load the full bottles of water for you from the new, larger water loading area.

Water Works’ water softeners and iron filters are all manufactured in Waunakee Wisconsin by Hellenbrand. They include the ProMate 6.0 water softener, the ProMate 6.0 DMT water softener that also removes chlorine and its odor and the Iron Curtain Jr. System, which is the new junior size version of the Iron Curtain System, which is the ultimate in removing rust and sulfur. They also have bacteria removal systems if that is the issue a customer is having.

Northern Illinois Water Works is continuing to provide customers with Wisconsin Glacier Springs water in a variety of options, such as Spring, fluoride spring or purified drinking water. Available in 1, 3 and 5-gallon options, there is something for everyone. Visit Northern Illinois Water Works on the web and stop by their new offices today!

NIU presidential search process advances

niu-logo-redNorthern Illinois University’s presidential search has moved to the airport interview stage, and 10 candidates have been invited to interview Thursday and Friday.  The 28-person Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) is scheduled to meet in closed session for the entire day March 7-8 with the goal of narrowing the field to four candidates for the position of NIU’s 12th president.

The 10 candidates were identified with the assistance of Atlanta-based Parker Executive Search (PES), one of the most highly regarded higher education-specific executive search firms in the country, providing services to both public and private universities aggressively recruiting senior academic leaders.

Robert Boey, who has served on the NIU Board of Trustees since its inception in 1996, chairs the PSAC. The co-chair is Alan Rosenbaum, a professor of psychology who serves as president of the NIU Faculty Senate and executive secretary of the University Council.

“This week represents an important step as we meet each of these excellent candidates in person,” said Boey. “Parker Executive Search helped the Presidential Search Advisory Committee identify the best of the best, and it is our hope to be able to present four candidates to the Board for further consideration following these interviews.”

“The PSAC has done a great job of keeping its focus on the best interests of NIU and finding the right person to deal with the problems confronting higher education, in general, and NIU in particular,” Rosenbaum added.

John G. Peters is stepping aside after 13 years of presidential service on June 30. Under Peters’ leadership, NIU gained national and international recognition for its student focus and engagement, excellence in faculty research and teaching and commitments to regional economic development and community service.
