St. Mary’s Annual September Fest is this weekend, September 21st – 23rd, 2012. Come for the Windy City Carnival rides and games. Enjoy the delicious food booths, used book, DVD & video sale, Catholic Daughters Bake Sale and Family Fun Day on Sunday. There will be 4 Bungee Trampolines set up for tons of fun for all, sponsored by Midwest Orthopedic Institute.
The family friendly Beer Garden is a great place to watch the live entertainment on the Sound Stage. Friday, September 21st, from 7:00pm – 10:00pm, Back Country Roads takes the stage. Saturday, September 22nd, at 3:00pm see local favorite, The Relics. At 7:30pm Saturday, check out Evolution, which is the new band with some of the original members of Hi-Infidelity. On Sunday at noon, DJ Shawn Lowe will rock the stage.
St. Mary’s September Fest runs on Friday from 5 pm – 10 pm; Saturday 12 pm – 10 pm and Sunday from 12 pm – 6 pm. Presented by St. Mary Parish and St. Mary’s School in DeKalb, the festival takes place on St. Mary School’s property, located at 210 Gurler Rd., in DeKalb. Save big on carnival rides by purchasing a MEGA BAND at the September Fest website.
Townies in DeKalb all know that NIU student’s coming back also means it’s Sully Fest weekend! Sullivan’s Tavern on E. Lincoln Hwy. always has their Sully Fest outdoor beer garden and great local bands playing live this last weekend in August. This year, the Footstompers will go on stage from 3:30 – 7:30pm and The Relics take over from 8pm to midnight.
