Sycamore High School Freshman, Anthony Deutsch, who has been already selected as a Student Ambassador to six European countries this summer, is in the final round of the Subway High School Heroes Facebook competition. Voting for final round of the contest began on December 3rd and ends on December 15th, 2010.

The Facebook Heroes Competition encourages Facebooks users to nominate and vote for those who inspire a high school community.  Anthony is a perfect candidate for the contest.

Northern Illinois residents who are on Facebook can show their support by voting daily.  Anyone with a Facebook account can vote up to five times a day, although voters are sometimes awarded three bonus votes, so a person might cast as many as eight votes. Anthony’s mom, Becky, estimates that it will take 30,000 votes to be in the top 3, who will all become winners.

Please help Anthony make it to the top three.  With your votes, the Facebook Heroes Competition will help send Ambassador Anthony Deutsch to Europe to represent the Sycamore area, DeKalb County, Northern Illinois and the State Of Illinois.

As a Student Ambassador, Anthony will represent the United States on a Education trip to Europe for 20-days in June of 2011.  From June 15 to July 4, he will visit six European countries, including Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and England.  During his trip he will participate in education activities and attend official meetings like Parliament.  Along with visiting schools, museums, cultural sites and go on environmental field visits with local experts.  Anthony will also participate in Service Projects that will “confirm the power and progress when people come together in positive ways”.

To vote, go to www.facebook.com/subway and then look for the HS Heros tab. Anthony has his own Facebook Fan Page that you can join and follow him on this once in a lifetime Educational adventure.
