The Beth Fowler School of Dance of Genoa and St. Charles is accepting registrations for its fall session which begins Monday, August 29th, and announcing the dance productions to be presented for the 2011-2012 season. Classes are offered for dancers from age 3 through adults, from beginners through professional levels.
The school offers a variety of classes including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip hop, modern, ballroom, turbo kickboxing, and creative dance, a specialized program for young children. Another offering is an all boys class. Last June over 50 boys of all ages performed in the school’s production of West Side Story. It is anticipated that interest will continue in the boy’s program with this season’s production of “Grease”. A new addition to the list of classes is turbo kickboxing which is a high energy dance exercise class for adults.
The school and the dance company are looking forward to the 2011-2012 season which will feature three separate dance productions.
The Beth Fowler Dance Company will present its 18th annual production of “The Nutcracker” December 9th-11th at Dekalb’s Egyptian Theatre. Dancers from the school perform the children’s roles. Dancers age 4 and older who are registered in the first 8 week session will be guaranteed a role in this favorite holiday classic. All dancers age 3 and older will have the opportunity to perform in the productions being presented in March & June.
The second seasonal production will be “Sleeping Beauty” to be performed at the Egyptian Theatre March 16th-18th, 2012.
The third production of the season will be “Grease & More” performed June 8th-10th, 2012 at the Egyptian Theatre.
