Relay For Life of DeKalb County

Relay For Life of DeKalb County is this Saturday, June 2nd at the DeKalb High School, 501 West Dresser Drive, DeKalb. Relay For Life raises funds for the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving programs. That allows them to help people get well, stay well, find cures and fight back!

As of this writing, 336 participants in 51 teams have signed up and $53,855 raised right here in DeKalb County this year. Relay For Life is an overnight relay-style event. Teams of people camp out around a track. Members of each team then take turns walking around the track for the duration of the event. Food, games and activities provide entertainment and fundraising opportunities.  It is a family-friendly environment for the entire community.

Teams may arrive at 3:30 pm to start setting up their campsites. The event will kick off with the Opening Ceremony at 6 pm Saturday and will go until 6 am the following morning. They Relay all night because cancer never sleeps- so neither will they!
