The Beauty of Barns

The DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association, Inc.  (DAAHA) announces their 2012 Fall noon presentation, The Beauty of Barns, to be held this Wednesday, November 14th.  The Beauty of Barns  will be co-hosted by the Glidden Homestead in DeKalb.

Carol Rowe, fifth generation Boone County resident and Past-President of the Boone County Historical Society, will present the results of her studies concerning the beauty of barns.  Family barns have been a vital image on the American scene.  Symbols of harvest, shelter, honest effort and hard work, barns are simple yet powerful structures on our landscape. Carol will conduct an informative and educational program about the many types of barns found throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

The Presentation will be held at 12:00 pm at The Ellwood Visitors Center, 509 North First Street in DeKalb. Visit the DAAHA website now to learn more.
