Resource Bank Planting Roots in Shabbona

shabbonaresourcebankOn Monday, February 4th, Resource Bank opened a temporary banking facility at 102 South Indian Road, Shabbona at the construction site of the future permanent branch. This location will offer more services such as drive-up window, night drop, walk-in client advisors and lobby tellers. A 24 hour ATM will be available to clients at 308 E. Comanche Avenue in front of the Ken Spears building.

“It’s been wonderful getting to know our neighbors in this community and we’re excited to now offer all the services they need,” said Michelle Janco, Branch Manager.

The new branch has been designed by David Hagney of Hagney Architects, LLC of Rockford, IL. The blueprints of the new bank will incorporate the historic Quilhot one room schoolhouse (built 1856), which has been owned by the Mullins family of Shabbona. The schoolhouse will be restored and integrated with the bank to provide a public space for use by the entire community. The construction of the building is by Shepard Construction of DeKalb, IL.

All are welcome to visit the temporary Resource Bank Shabbona Branch, one of nine locations throughout DeKalb County. For more information, please call (815) 756-6321 or visit

  1. I wish they would open a branch in Kirkland. The former State Bank of Kirkland is gone for a few years now, mergered into the Alpine Bank. Just another big city bank with overly strict rules and penalty fees. You should see the gawdy electronic sign they put up out front. Tacky! They just dont fit in with our small town personality.
