50 Men Who Cook is an annual fundraiser presented by KishHealth System to benefit the children of DeKalb County. Prominent men from DeKalb County will once again be cooking their favorite dishes for you to enjoy including appetizers, salads, side dishes, entrees and desserts. The evening will include dinner (sampling of all dishes), cash bar, live entertainment, raffles and a silent auction. All proceeds from this unique event benefit CASA DeKalb County.
CASA DeKalb County, Inc. is a non-profit membership organization which advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children. CASA provides trained volunteers who work cooperatively with the juvenile services in DeKalb County. Volunteers are everyday people who are appointed by the juvenile court to advocate for the best interests of these children. Volunteers come from all backgrounds. Many work full time. Some are students or retired people. A CASA volunteer stays with each child until the child’s court case is completed by having the child placed into a safe, permanent and nurturing home.
50 Men Who Cook will be held this Saturday, August 17th, 2013 at NIU’s Barsema Hall and Vistor’s Center, 231 N. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb. The event begins at 6pm and goes until 9pm. Click here to visit their Facebook Event Page.
