Billed as a “celebration of all things Huskie and all that is NIU,” Northern Illinois University’s Huskie Pride Weekend brings together student life, athletics, the arts and recreation the weekend of September 20-22, 2013 . All NIU students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, fans and their friends are invited to take part in the many events taking place on campus over those three days.
Join the University Marching Band and the NIU Cheerleaders in preparation for the first home football game on Friday, September 20th from 5-7:30pm. Free food for students who will also have the opportunity to smash a car in addition to cheering on the Huskies. Toppers and Rosy’s Roadhouse will be selling food.
Huskie Pride Weekend coincides with Fall Family Weekend this year, doubling your chances for fun. Highlights also include the Huskie Invitational volleyball tournament, The Amazing Dog Sled Race; a family scavenger hunt, a Gilbert Hall Open House, Tailgaiting and the home opener for the 2-0 defending MAC champion football team vs. Eastern Illinois. – See more here.
