Brown Bag Lunch – Sycamore’s History from City Council Minutes

sychistorymuseum2The Sycamore History Museum welcomes Ken Mundy to the February Brown Bag lunch this Thursday, February 6th, 2014, from noon to 1pm. In preparation for the city’s Sesquicentennial Celebration, Mundy has been reviewing Sycamore’s historic documents. One set of materials included the city council minutes. Over the last few years, he has read and taken notes about our community’s history.

On February 6, he is going to share his research from the 1850s-1900. Those were the formative years when the “first” elections, well, steam power, fire company, police, paved streets and lots of building took place in the City of Sycamore. Come hear Sycamore Mayor Ken Mundy tell us all about it!

The program is free and open to the public. It will be held at the DeKalb County Community Foundation Freight Room, 475 DeKalb Ave. in downtown Sycamore. Coffee and cookies will be provided. Donations for the Sycamore Museum are welcome.
