November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and this year’s theme is Be Smart About Your Heart: Control the ABC’s of Diabetes. More than 29 million Americans have diabetes and many do not even know they have the disease. Having diabetes means you have a greater chance of having a stroke or heart attack. By taking care of your diabetes you are also taking care of your heart. Fortunately people with diabetes can lower their risk of having diabetes-related heart problems by managing the ABC’s of Diabetes.
