Holiday Events at the Egyptian this weekend


ThisIsChristmasTF[1]The Egyptian Theatre is full of holiday spirit and holiday events this weekend! Come join Christ Community Church for a joyful, interactive Christmas concert titled, ‘This Is Christmas: God’s Gift to the World’ this Friday, December 12th, 2014 at 7pm.  This year they will take a look at how Christmas is celebrated in different countries around the world. It is sure to be a holiday season smash and fun for the whole family. The evening will feature the NIU Alumni Steel Pan Ensemble, the Lamplight Singers, and other local artists.  Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

DeKalbMunicipalBandTF[1]On Saturday evening, December 13th at 7:30pm, the DeKalb Municipal Band will present a gala holiday concert celebrating 160 years of music performance for the community.  The DeKalb Municipal Band holds the distinction of being the only municipal band in the country to have performed for 160 continuous years.  The concert will feature holiday classics as well as newly arranged seasonal music.  Special musical guests include Maureen Christine, Mark Robinson, and a choir of local children.  Net proceeds from this one time celebration concert will be added to the Palmer Family Music Education Scholarship Fund. This fund was established at the DeKalb County Community Foundation by the Dee Palmer Family and other supporters in 2009. Doors open at 6:30pm, Seating starts at 7:00pm. Tickets are $15 – $25.
