midnight-clock[1]NIU President Doug Baker’s first full year in DeKalb proved eventful.

The Stevens Building is undergoing its long-awaited renovation while work toward realizing the NIU Master Plan Thesis has begun.

Engineers were tapped to work on federally funded digital manufacturing initiatives. Blueprints for progressive undergraduate curricular revision plan were presented.

“Bold” ideas for NIU’s future were shared. Students poised for career success were paired with mentors. A much-honored member of the NIU faculty earned national acclaim as Illinois Professor of the Year.

NIU Today spent the last two weeks counting down 14 of the biggest stories of 2014, topped by international media attention garnered by two Department of Psychology professors who researched a modern phenomenon they call “workplace telepressure.”
