The NIU Football team’s annual Huskie Bowl, set for Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at Huskie Stadium, will be much more than a football scrimmage in 2015, with events prior to, during and after the practice for Huskie fans of all ages. There is no charge to attend the Huskie Bowl or for parking so make plans to be on hand for a fun afternoon of football and more!
Before the game, NIU hopes that local businesses will be willing and able to promote themselves at the Communiversity Block Party from noon until the game starts at 2pm. Vendors will be provided a space for a pop-up tent (approx 10×10) that will be in the parking lot directly behind the west side of Huskie Stadium (Lot 31). They also request vendors bring weighted objects for their tents in the event of a windy day. Vendors will be allowed access to set up that Saturday beginning at 9:00 am and must be completely set up by 11:00 am. Space reservation is first-come, first-serve. The block party will occur from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. This is a free event, open to the public.
Vendors interested in donating samples of food or selling food are more than welcome (and encouraged) to do so. A request for proper insurance will be made for those handling food. NIU student-athletes will be signing autographs and there will be sign-making and face-painting stations. They’ll have a DJ providing music to the area, opportunities for fans to purchase season tickets, and more!
