KC Nursing Students attend Political Action Day

nursinginspringfieldOn March 24, the second year nursing students from Kishwaukee College traveled to Springfield to attend the 17th Annual Student Nurse Political Action Day. Organized by the Illinois member of the American Nurses Association (ANA-Illinois), this event is held annually to discuss the importance of being active politically, the impact legislation has on nursing practice, and current bills in the Illinois General Assembly which are of interest to the nursing profession.

Student nurses in attendance also had an opportunity to network with various professional organizations, as well as schools that offer opportunities for continued education. The trip was organized by members of the Kishwaukee College chapter of the national nursing honor society, Alpha Delta Nu. The Kishwaukee College ADN chapter would like to thank the following members of the community, without whose support, this trip would not have been possible: Baylor Insurance Company, Michael D. Martinez, Esq., Beth Clark, and Greg Ryan. Pictured are the students in front of the State Capitol Building.
