Community Alert – Home Invasion and Burglaries


dekalbpolicelogo2UPDATE 5/16/15: On May 15, 2015, the DeKalb Police Department arrested Andre P. Cross-Boler for several counts of Home Invasion, Criminal Sexual Assault and burglary.  Boler is charged with the home invasion that occurred in the 700 block of Haish Boulevard.  Evidence from the home invasion/sexual assault were located inside Boler’s residence.  Boler is suspected in several other residential burglaries.  The investigation into the residential burglaries continue.  Additional charges pending.

On May 13th, 2015 the DeKalb Police Department began investigating a home invasion that occurred in the 700 block of Haish Boulevard. The victim reported that an unknown male broke into her residence and sexually assaulted her. The home invasion occurred around 2:30AM on May 13th. The suspect is described as a male black around 5’10 inches tall. The suspect stole items from the residence and is believed to have left on foot. The DeKalb Police Department was able to determine that entry into the residence was gained through an unlocked window.

The DeKalb Police Department responded to several other reports of recent residential and business burglaries. The residential burglaries occurred in the 400 block of Kensington Court, 800 block of Kensington Boulevard, 700 block of Regent, 700 block of North Sixth Street, and 400 block of Bush Street. The business burglaries occurred in the 1200 block of S. Fourth Street and the 300 block of Oak Street. Several of these burglaries have been linked to the same suspect.

The residential burglaries have occurred during daytime and nighttime hours. The DeKalb Police Department is asking that all residents lock their doors and windows and be aware of your surroundings.
