he State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) annual statewide charitable giving campaign is now under way until Wednesday, Nov. 18.
The SECA once-a-year campaign provides NIU employees the opportunity to give to charity either through annual payroll deduction or by writing one-time checks. There are more than 1,800 charity organization options to choose from, and all gifts are tax-deductible.
Participation counts; the amount of money given doesn’t matter.
State and university employees have been participating in this campaign for more than 30 years, and countless charities have received millions of dollars through those combined efforts. In today’s economy, many people have greater needs that gifts can help fill; the generosity of SECA demonstrates that when working together truly makes a difference and accomplishes amazing things that help by paying it forward to those most in need, both locally and globally.
