Barb Wire Betties Season Opener Saturday!


12642904_940931815976098_2920019941798795541_nThis Saturday, February 20th, 2016, you’re invited to the  Season opener for the Barbed Wire Betties! The event will go down at the Huntley Middle School, 1515 South 4th Street in DeKalb. Doors open at 6pm with 1st whistle at 6:30pm.

Barbed Wire Betties (BWB) is a non-profit organization fostering the amateur sport of Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby in DeKalb County, Illinois. BWB embraces members of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and skill levels. The members of BWB, train to the fullest extent of their individual abilities, respect their teammates and competitors, and love the sport of Roller Derby. Their goals are to create a competitive Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) recognized league, foster a sense of camaraderie, empowerment, and teamwork among the members, and carry on the tradition of Roller Derby.  BWB plays a physically demanding sport to inspire, entertain, and enrich our community.

Tickets to the season openers are $10.00 advance purchase from, at door- $12.00, Seniors $7.00,
Kids 8 and under are free to enter. The Betties invite you to join them for drinks after the bout at the American Legion Post #66, 1204 South 4th Street in DeKalb.
