Take the Egyptian Theatre Feasibility Survey

egyptiantheatreThe City of DeKalb and the nonprofit Preservation of Egyptian Theatre (PET), Inc. are encouraging the community to participate in a survey about the Egyptian Theatre.

The survey asks various questions about community members’ experiences with the theatre and their hopes for the Theatre’s future. Resident and non-resident community members are encouraged to participate.

The results of the survey will be used by Janis Barlow and Associates, experts in the field of arts consulting, for a feasibility study of the Theatre.

“As the consultants research the technical aspects of the Theatre, we want to also gather input from all community members,” said Alex Nerad, Executive Director of the Egyptian Theatre. “This input will help the consultants develop their recommendations for the Theatre’s future.”

As a major funding source for the Theatre, the City of DeKalb is considering the theatre’s future funding needs for capital and operations.

In advance of a funding commitment, the City of DeKalb has partnered with the PET to hire Janis Barlow and Associates to study the Theatre’s future potential, what resources/support will be needed to achieve that potential and what ownership/operating model will be best suited for the Theatre now and into the future.

Survey results will be accepted only until April 15th.
