The Annual Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Yard Sale is back, with sales concentrated in Illinois from the Mississippi River in Fulton eastward, including businesses in Rochelle. Nearly 50 sales in Fulton, organized by the Fulton Chamber of Commerce, will be held Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13. Many of the Fulton sales will be multi-family.
New for this year, the yard sale at 312 N. 12th St. in Rochelle Thursday and Friday will include a lemonade stand and bake sale to benefit a new charity located along the Lincoln Highway, The Kitchen Table Community Cafe. The newly opened Kitchen Table serves meals to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay because of generous donations from the community and volunteers. For more information on The Kitchen Table, please see:kitchentablerochelle.org. The yard sale with the lemonade stand and bake sale will be open 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday.

The sponsor of the yard sales, the Lincoln Highway Association, is a charitable organization open to all, tracing its roots back to the original organizers of the Lincoln Highway, over a hundred years old. The Lincoln Highway Buy-Way began in Ohio and spread to neighboring states and now spans hundreds of miles across five states. The Lincoln Highway Buy-Way is an annual event, the second full weekend of August.
