Cortney Cox is excited to announce her run for City Clerk for the City of Sycamore. The election will be held April 4th, 2017. My husband and I chose to build our home and lives here almost eleven years ago. We love Sycamore and the community we live in! While, I have held no prior political positions, I have served on the South Elgin Fire District’s Auxiliary Board as President, Secretary and Treasurer. I have over seventeen years experience in accounting roles.
I am familiar with the City of Sycamore. I formally worked in the finance office, before taking another opportunity. I am eager to get back working with the wonderful City staff and residents. I graduated with the Sycamore Chamber group, Young Professionals, which allowed me to meet and get to know many of the great businesses and members of our community. I served as intern and temporary employee as a legal advocate for Safe Passage in DeKalb. I have been a small business owner for over five years. I love to help small businesses and local business owners. It helps build and grow our community.
I would like to simplify the processes for the services for our community that the City Clerk provides. My goal is to work within the City budget to technologically advance our procedures to a more user-friendly system for our residents and visitors.
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself to you. Thank you for your support! For more information go to her Facebook page.
