They’ve decked out the Midwest Museum of Natural History for the holidays; they have twinkle lights everywhere, Sam is dressed up, and of course it’s that time of the year for the annual tree competition! During the month of December, the museum will also have ‘special events’ happening every week. Every December the Museum gets dressed up for the holidays, featuring a display of over 20 trees decorated by businesses and non-profit groups.
Tuesdays and Thursdays through December, enjoy a free make-and-take craft. Each craft is winter-themed and fun for kids and the young-at-heart! Wednesdays and Fridays there will be an animal demonstration at 3:00 pm: come visit with one of the live animals at the Museum! A staff member will bring out an animal for everyone to learn about and touch. There is free hot chocolate on Saturdays throughout the month with admission. Entrance fee is $8 for adults and $5 for children 2-12 and seniors 62+. Museum Hours are Tues – Sat: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Museum will be CLOSED December 23, 24, and 25 for the holiday. Visit the museum’s website to learn more.
