I am excited to announce my run for Sycamore City Clerk. The election will be held April 4th, 2017.
My decision to run is motivated by my love and passion for the town of Sycamore. I was raised in Sycamore and along with my husband, Mike, of 29 years, have raised our three boys here. I have been a resident of Sycamore for 41 years and am passionate about our town because of the many wonderful things it has to offer. With top-notch schools, quality infrastructure, and an expansive park district, I love the “community feel” Sycamore has always exhibited.
I received my B.A. from NIU and have served in management and service roles throughout my career. My experience includes working 13 years in the mortgage industry maintaining Federal compliance while meeting industry and banking guidelines. From Marketing Assistant to Account Executive, I also trained, mentored and managed team members throughout my field. Additionally, I ran my own business for 9 years out of my home. I pride myself on my ability to work with others, my compassion for serving, and my exceptional customer service skills, all of which, if elected, I will bring to the office of City Clerk.
In addition, I stay involved in the community and church through my volunteer work. I have volunteered with Kishwaukee Hospital Auxiliary and drove the church van to provide transportation to members living in area nursing homes. I have been a Sycamore Booster Club member for many years and serve on the Discipleship Committee at church. Life Missions youth program is what I am most passionate about. Spending time and serving with the amazing kids of Sycamore helps me to keep paying it forward.
I was raised the “Sycamore way” and am proud and grateful to call Sycamore my home. I cherish the memories of Central Grade School, Pumpkin Festival pumpkin entries and riding my bike around town. Growing up working at Colonial Ice Cream and Tommy O’s Restaurant to graduating from Sycamore High School and NIU to raising my family here, I am vested in this town, love this town, and want to be able to give back to the community all it has given to me.
