Public Invited to Joiner Memorial Day Service Sunday

Troop 40 work day 05-13-2017

The Sycamore Boy Scout Troop 40 invite the public to their Joiner Memorial Day Service on Sunday, May 28th at 3:00pm. The Joiner Cemetery is located on the north side of West Old State Road about ¼ west of IL State Route 64 and east of Five Points Rd.. Their guest speaker will be DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott.

Boy Scout Troop 40 has been cleaning up the cemetery for many years as an annual work day. The first cleanup day on record was on Sunday, November 14, 1999 and Troop 40 with others have been having annual cleanup days since May 30, 2005. Troop 40 invites the public to attend the Memorial Day Service with them. There is much work still yet to be done. Landscaping, restoration of grave stones and new fencing is still needed. To volunteer to help maintain and restore the Joiner Cemetery, please attend the service and let Troop 40 know what you can do to help.
