To kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Safe Passage, DeKalb County’s only Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center, will host a Survivor Speak-Out on Monday, October 2nd from 6:00 PM TO 8:00 PM. This year’s theme is “Whole Again; My Transformation.” The event free and open to the public.
The event will focus on raising awareness of the issue of domestic violence and sexual assault in our community, and will allow survivors and other community members to share their stories and stand together, publicly declaring that domestic violence and sexual abuse and assault are unacceptable crimes with no place in our community.
The event will be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ at
615 N 1st St. in DeKalb, 815-756-5228. More information on both events can be found at www.safepassagedv.org/events
