City Seeks Resident Input on Refuse Services

DeKalb residents are encouraged to participate in an online questionnaire that will help
the City evaluate refuse, recycling, and yard waste services. The City’s current contract with Waste Management expires on August 31, 2018. The City plans to solicit proposals for the new contract later this year. The services requested in the proposals may differ from the services in the current contract. Currently, collection services are bundled. All residents are required to pay the same amount regardless of utilization. The questionnaire results will guide staff in identifying which services residents value.

Click here or visit the City’s website to complete the questionnaire online. The questionnaire will be available through March 5, 2018. For residents with limited or no online access, they can visit City Hall at 200 South Fourth Street and request a paper copy to be completed onsite.

Paper questionnaires will be available through March 5, 2018. The City is also
distributing 1,000 surveys to randomly selected residents. If you receive the survey via
mail, please complete the survey and return it in the enclosed prepaid envelope or to
City Hall by March 9, 2018.
