The historic Egyptian Theatre hosted the Billboard chart topping group GENTRI “The Gentlemen Trio” in February for a concert and to shoot half of their latest music video. GENTRI has taken the themes from the movie’s “A Million Dreams” scene and worked them to fit the dreams of young musical theatre artist hopping to make it to New York City. The GENTRI music video features the Egyptian Theatre as the small theatre where the dreams build and grow on the journey to make it to New York City.
The music video is split between black and white, New York City, and color, the Egyptian Theatre, scenes to show the journey to achieving the dreams. The video Egyptian Theatre portions of the video were shot before the group’s performance at the theatre on February 10, 2018. “We were incredibly excited when the band told us they would be filming at our theatre,” said Jeanine Holcomb of the Egyptian Theatre. “We were even more thrilled when we saw the final product.”
The members of GENTRI stated, “Your beautiful theater was the perfect venue for this song. Much appreciation to your staff and crew who helped us capture these great shots!”
The video currently has over 48,000 views on YouTube, making it one of the groups most viewed music videos.
The historic Egyptian Theatre hosts live national and regional entertainment events, film festivals and special movie screenings. The theatre is a 1929, fully restored Egyptian Art Deco movie palace, and is one of only seven (7) remaining Egyptian Style Theatres in the US.
