We thank Tyler for his thoughtfulness and gratitude to the law enforcement community.

On Wednesday, June 13th at 8:30am, the DeKalb Police Department was excited to host Tyler Carach, also known as “Donut Boy.”  Tyler is a 10-year-old that resides in Florida and has delivered donuts to police officers in more than 30 states.  Tyler said that he started a few summers ago, when he saw four officers and asked if he could use his allowance to buy them some doughnuts. They were so appreciative of the gesture, it gave him the idea for a mission: to thank every police officer in America.

More information about Tyler’s amazing quest can be found at https://www.today.com/food/donut-boy-has-delivered-65k-doughnuts-thank-cops-across-country-t130467. or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ireg2INYX9s.

Tyler shared donuts with all the hungry cops before touring the police department, riding on the Utility Terrain Vehicle, and receiving goody bags from every department.

The DeKalb Police Department, Northern Illinois University Police Department, Sycamore Police Department, and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office all attended the event held at the DeKalb Police Department, 700 W. Lincoln Hwy.
