DeKalb Seeks Public Input For 2019 Draft Annual Action Plan

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federally funded program intended to increase affordable housing, and community and economic opportunities for low-and moderate-income residents of the City of DeKalb.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires the City to submit a Consolidated Plan every five years plus an Annual Action Plan each year that describes community needs, resources, priorities, and proposed activities to be undertaken under CDBG. The City will receive $439,129 in CDBG funds for Program Year 2019 (April 1, 2019 – March 31, 2020).

The Draft Annual Action Plan for 2019 is available on the City’s website at and in print copy in the Community Development Department and at the front desk of the Finance Department in the DeKalb Municipal Building, 200 South Fourth Street. A print copy is also available at the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak Street, beginning May 11, 2019.

The 2019 Draft Annual Action Plan is subject to consideration and public input by City Council and members of the community. All interested citizens are invited to submit written comments during the 30 day review period beginning May 11, 2019, until June 10, 2019. Notice of the comment period was published May 10, 2019.

Citizens are invited to attend and provide input on the 2019 Draft Annual Action Plan at a Public Hearing to be held on June 10, 2019, at the regular meeting of City Council. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at 200 South Fourth Street.
