Free Child Identification Program

The DeKalb Masonic Lodge will host a Child Identification Program from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Armor Technologies shop 143 E. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb during Corn Fest.

The service will be provided free of charge to parents and guardians and will be paid for by the DeKalb Masonic Lodge and the Grand Lodge of Illinois A.F. & A.M.

The Child Identification Program provides parents and guardians with a package containing their child’s digital photo, a short digital video, a DNA swab, fingerprints, and a description that can be handed to authorities in the event their child ever goes missing. This offers an enormous savings of time to officials at a time when every moment counts towards finding and returning a child save to their home.

The Program keeps no information and hands everything to the parents and guardians at the time they bring their child in. The DeKalb Masonic Lodge pays a part for each package, and the Grand Lodge of Illinois pays about five parts. This program was started by the State Police but was enhanced and expanded by the Grand Masonic Lodge of Illinois with charitable funds it sets aside for community service.
