Cortland Parade and Festival

A throwback to the great hometown parades of the past, the City of Cortland (IL) will be hosting an old-fashion parade and chilli cookoff. The parade will take place on Sunday, October 13 stepping off at 1:00 PM in the downtown area.

The parade will feature a variety of units from throughout the DeKalb County region. From Girl Scout units to local politicians (Illinois State Representative District 70 Jeff Keicher will be there), from tractors to old cars … there will be something for everyone who attends the parade. For the kids and kids at heart, ‘Superwoman’ will be in the parade and available for photo opportunities. Also in the Parade will be Dekalb American Legion members passing out American Flags reminding parade-goers that Veteran’s Day (November 11) will be coming soon and to always remember to thank a Veteran and/or current Military Member.

Following the parade, there will be a variety of activities to see, do and share. There will also be a Chilli Cook-off for those with culinary skills. For more information please visit the ‘Cortland Festival and Parade’ page on facebook.
