Egyptian Theatre Flash Light Tour: Saturday, October 12, 2019 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM Join Egyptian Theatre staff as they provide a tour of the historic Egyptian Theatre using just your flashlights. Guests will be treated to a behind the scenes backstage tour which will highlight the haunted history of the theatre. This is the tour that reveals all the secrets and lets you go places the public has never seen. Don’t forget to bring your camera! You never know what you might capture in your pictures. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students & seniors. ‘Everyone must bring a flashlight for the tour’. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Settlers Day Festival: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, October 11-12-13, 2019
A three day Festival in Marengo (IL) has been a mainstay for over 40 years. On Friday a costume contest at Miss Kiddy’s Saloon and Bingo at Marengo Firehouse; Saturday a 5 K race and activities in the downtown area including carnival, music and a talent contest; Sunday includes Pancake Breakfast, downtown Parade, and Marching Band contest. The Chicago Marathon is one of the six World Marathon Majors and is surpassed only by New York and Boston marathons in the U.S. It is also an IAAF Gold Label race and the fourth-largest race by the number of finishers worldwide. The racecourse covers most of the downtown area. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon has a course time limit of 6 hours and 30 minutes. After this time, the course will re-open to vehicular traffic. Nearly 45,000 elites, seasoned runners, celebrities, and newbie marathoners will charge to the finish line in Chicago’s Grant Park during the Chicago Marathon.
