DeKalb CVB Has New Home

The DeKalb County Convention and Vistors Bureau (CVB) has a new home to serve guests and visitors in DeKalb County. After three days of packing and moving the CVB has a new address. The new offices are located inside the DeKalb County Outreach Building located on North Annie Glidden Road. The official address is 2500 North Annie Glidden Road, Suite F, DeKalb, Illinois.

“Packing up travel brochures, flyers, and advertising materials has been a challenge, but the new location has a lot to offer,” commented Bonnie Wilkinson, Interim Executive Director for the DeKalb CVB. “Part of the office transition is pitching old materials and getting ready for new booklets and tourism brochures,” said Wilkinson.

Wilkinson is finishing with the transitional phase of the CVB selecting a new full-time Executive Director. She will be assisting with the office development and welcoming new CVB staff.

The new CVB Executive Director is Cortney Strohecker. Strohecker comes to the DeKalb County CVB from being the Executive Director of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce. Her first official day on the job was Monday, and organizing her office was her first priority. “Not many people get a new job, new office and new location all on the same day,” said Strohecker.

Strohecker commented, “I am excited to get started on this new adventure and extremely pleased at the support from the CVB Board of Directors and other community leaders.”

There will be little rest for Strohecker and other CVB team members as the DeKalb County CVB is a major host for the upcoming State of Illinois High School Football Championship held at NIU on November 29 and 30. This event is looking for volunteers. If you can assist for any time on the two days of the event please contact Bradley Hoey at
