IVT Prepares for World Premier of ’A Twisted Christmas Carol’- Cast Member Spotlight


Indian Valley Theatre is proud to announce their next production, the World Premier Production of, ’A Twisted Christmas Carol’, the newly written comedy by the creator of the ‘Don’t Hug Me’series of plays written by Phil Olson. IVT was asked personally by the playwright to be one of 8 Community Theatre groups across the U.S to produce this Texas spoof of Charles Dickens’ classic story, ‘A Christmas Carol’. The Director is Connie Cline of Somonauk; Producer is Sharon Pagoria, Asst. Director is Kyle Carr and Stage Manager is Jen Ketchum, all from Sandwich.

IVT would like to introduce Melinda McGraw-Carpenter who will portray the role of Darla Johnson, the strong willed co-owner of a Barbecue joint called “Buford’s Open Pit Barbecue.” Melinda participated in Theatre in high school and received her B.A. from Illinois State University in both Theater and Education. She has been a member of IVT for twelve years and has taught, directed and been a board member for IVT’s Summer Children’s Workshop for many years as well. Some of her favorite shows include ‘Home for Christmas’,‘Little Shop of Horrors’,‘The Christmas Toyshop’,‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’and ‘The Wizard of Oz’.She has also enjoyed being involved with a variety ofSandwich Fair Melodramas. Melinda auditioned for this particular production because she loves performing and thought this show sounded like it would be fun and unique. She works for the Sandwich School District #430 as the Parent Educator in the Pre-School Dept. and lives at Lake Holiday on the Sandwich side with husband Steve, daughter Chloe and 4 rescue fur babies. Her other hobbies include shopping, reading and keeping her 6 year old daughter active! Melinda is excited to bring the character of Darla to the stage and is thrilled to be a part of this great cast. She would like to dedicate this performance to her sweet daughter Chloe.
