Local High Schools in Football Playoffs

The DeKalb County area has four local teams in the Illinois High School Football playoffs. Hiawatha (Kirkland), Geona-Kingston, Sycamore and Kaneland (Maple Park) schools won their opening round one game and have moved on to round two. Winners of round two move to the Quarterfinals.

The excitement of local teams winning the next three games and moving on to the Illinois State Football Championship showcases the talent of local schools. Winning out and playing at the State Championships in DeKalb at NIU will be exciting for local fans. The IHSA Football Championships will be held on November 29th and 30th at NIU Huskie Stadium in DeKalb. The local event committee is looking for volunteers to help during the tournament. People interested in volunteering with the host committee please contact Bradley Hoey at bhoey@niu.edu with name and best contact information.
