DeKalb County Clerk/Recorder Doug Johnson announced Thursday additional information to make Property Tax Payers in DeKalb County aware of forms that may be used for Relief during these concerning times.
PTAX-761 – Please review additional information as stated in the opening paragraph, which includes not only destruction, but property owners denied the normal customary business building usage (mandatory shutdown).

Form PTAX-761 needs to be filed within 90 days of the destruction of or damage, rendered uninhabitable, loss of use by federal mandate, and unfit for occupancy or customary use.
The forms are available from the Illinois Department of Revenue, County Assessor, or the County Clerk/Recorder office. These forms are also available on the County Clerk/Recorder website of the County web site: dekalbcounty.org.
There is no new current information on any delay for the current county property taxes. The DeKalb County Board said they would address this issue at their May 6th meeting. This DeKalb County Board finance committee meeting will be at 7:00 PM, Government Building (conference room) in Sycamore (additional information TBA).
