A free meal on Christmas Day will be provided to anyone in need from Jamrah Middle Eastern Cuisine Restaurant in Downtown DeKalb between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. This is meant to benefit seniors, international students, area homeless, and others whom may be less fortunate this holiday season. No one will be turned away at their 209 East Lincoln Highway location and no one will eat alone.
The Jamrah Christmas lunch will include delicious baked chicken, rice, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, green bean casserole, bread rolls, soup, your choice of water or soft drink and baklava for dessert!
Owner and community resident Ammar Mahmood says, “The reason for this meal is to make a positive impact on both the DeKalb and Sycamore communities. Having held this event the last three years have been very successful. We plan to build on that in our new Downtown Dekalb location sharing this special day with our community. My goal is to fill Jamrah for the entire time and make sure no one eats alone, my family will be right alongside helping to make it a success. We’re quite thankful for our many customers and fans for their tremendous support around this event and throughout the year!”
Having celebrated their 4 year anniversary in October, Jamrah is also offering a very special Cold Weather Deal in December 2019 and January 2020. Come in and get soup and coffee for the price of the temperature that day. So for example if the temperature forecast is a high of 24°F, Jamrah will offer soup and coffee for only 24 cents for that day.
