Looking for something to do tonight? The Leah Pearl Band is a rock/blues group that has been taking the Chicago suburbs by storm, but tonight, they will be at O’Leary’s in DeKalb. With powerful lead female vocals, solid performances, and an impressive variety of musical genres, it’s no wonder they’re causing a stir in the area.
Given that Leah’s parents have been in the music business for over 20 years, it’s no wonder she took an interest in the same field. Not only did she submerge herself in the music, but she took her two biggest role models and fans with her for the ride…her Mom and Dad. Mom Mindy reserves the position of keyboardist and shares an equal amount of vocal resposibility. And with a voice that can cover Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin with little effort, it’s easy to see why. Her Dad Jeff takes refuge behind the drum kit. With powerful backup and lead vocals, and not to mention rock solid rythm, it’s no surprise that he’s a powerful asset to the group. And then there is Mike Dorsey…this man SMOKES on the guitar. Pete Jeronimus is their go-to bass man. This guy loves to play, and it shows in every performance.
And finally there is the lead vocalist, Leah Pearl. Get ready for a voice you’ve never heard before, from Bonnie Raitt to Pink to Susan Tedeschi and back to Janis Joplin, she’ll own it. This girl loves to sing, and it shows. Full of energy and spunk, it’s no wonder this group has a blast playing together. So what are you waiting for!? Come check out the Leah Pearl Band at O’Leary’s tonight, Saturday, February 12th, starting at 9pm. No cover charge just great music in a great atmosphere!
