The DeKalb Police Department announces the implementation of the department’s Body Camera Pilot Program described in the FY2020 budget initiative. Over the next few months, a limited number of officers will be wearing body cameras during their tours of duty. The officers will test and evaluate three different camera products and report back their feedback on each product’s functionality. Each vendor offers different hardware, mounting options, and software. The purpose of this pilot is to determine which vendor is the best fit for our department and the officers that will be utilizing their cameras for future implementation.
We will be providing more information as the pilot evolves
