Did you get a new TV or computer this Christmas? Time to get rid of the old? Electronics have been banned from all landfills as of January 1, 2012. The first Recycle Collection for 2015 goes on in DeKalb and Genoa this coming Saturday, January 3rd.
The DeKalb and Genoa Recycle Collection Schedules is as follows:
- First Saturday of each month in DeKalb at City Lot #3 at Grove and S. 4th St. from 9am to 11am.
- First Saturday of each month in Genoa at City Hall, East Lot from 12:30 – 2:30pm.
Items accepted include any object that plugs into a wall socket or has a battery (ie: phones, cameras, satellite receivers, refrigerators, computers, VCR’s, lamps, etc.); Cardboard, Plastic, Scrap Metal, Tube TV’s/CRT Monitors / Flat Screen Monitors, etc.. Other items accepted include dvd’s, ink jet and toner cartridges.
The collections are sponsored by each individual municipality. Please contact your local municipality if you have any questions regarding pick up dates around the holiday weekends.
