Augmented Optics: Micro-Measuring to Make Awesome Technologies Possible

Wednesday, July 12, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Eduardo’s in DeKalb
214 E. Lincoln Hwy, DeKalb, IL 60115

How do self-driving cars drive and park without hitting anything? How does your smart phone find Pokémon? How does a 3-D scanner actually work? The answer is augmented optics: tools and imaging systems that can provide extremely precise measurements for use in a host of hot applications.

Join Dr. Federico Sciammarella, from NIU’s College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, to learn the basics of augmented optics and see how augmented optics will make technology safer and more precise.
