The 2013 Malta Days Festival is this coming Friday – Sunday, June 7th 8th & 9th. Join them in Malta for a weekend of fun for the whole family! Malta is the first of the local communities this year to offer carnival, food booths, beer garden and business and crafters booths each day in their weekend community festival.
Saturday kicks off with a Pancake Breakfast held by the Malta Fire Department. The Malta Car Show runs from 8am – 3pm Saturday at the grade school running track. Get in on the 5k Tractor Trot Walk/Run beginning at 9am. This year’s Tractor Trot will benefit Feed’em Soup in DeKalb. Miller’s Petting Zoo, one of the largest petting zoos in the Midwest will be open from noon-6pm Saturday. The Malta Parade is on Sunday beginning at 11am. Get some great deals at the annual Non-Profit Organization Auction Sunday from 1-3pm.
Malta Days will feature live music each day. On Friday, see The Red Woody Band from 7-11pm. Shuvlhed rocks the stage on Saturday from 3-7pm and the Brian Lavender Band plays Saturday from 7:30-11:30pm. The Brian Lavender Band are country music sensations that played the 2012 State Fair, Country Thunder, Navy Pier Chicago and other large venues and were brought back to Malta by popular demand this year.
