Stage Coach Players is pleased to announce a partnership with the Salvation Army to fill the hearts and bellies of hundreds of local families in need throughout the upcoming 2020 holiday season by collecting 100 Thanksgiving food boxes and hundreds of gifts for children who will otherwise go without.
“DeKalb County families have shown unparalleled generosity since Stage Coach Players began our Food Drive and Fabric Giveaway in April,” said Jan Kuntz, SCP COVID-19 Task Force Committee Member. “Now, as we face the holiday season, we have the opportunity to provide not only the basics, but to help give every family the ability to celebrate and give thanks for the many blessings in our lives in spite of the difficulties we continue to face during the pandemic.”
“We are asking those who are able to stretch just a little further. We believe that every family is special and deserving of the dignity of the holidays even when their circumstances might make them feel otherwise,” said Gloria Dennison, SCP COVID-19 Task Force Committee Member. “We have hosted 24 food drives and fabric giveaways and collected hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds of food and personal care items and provided hundreds of yards of fabric for our community to use to make masks – many of which have been donated back to our drive to provide to community members in need of personal protection – so I know that, collectively, we can do this too.”
To facilitate donations, Stage Coach Players will return to a weekly Food Drive and Fabric Giveaway every Tuesday, rain or shine, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Stage Coach Players building at 126 S. Fifth Street in DeKalb.
