The Waterman Lions Club will be holding their 19th annual Summerfest and Antique Tractor & Truck Show Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Waterman Lions Park in Waterman. The Waterman Lions view this year as special in that they are celebrating the show in conjunction with the 65th anniversary of the club’s founding.
Publicity co-chair Pam Gaston describes the show has having a unique personality that sets it apart from some other town festivals. “During the day you will experience a welcoming family oriented and homecoming atmosphere mixed with all kinds of activities and events. A family can have an entire day of fun in the park, and it will not cost an arm and a leg.”
Highlights include participation by nationally known ag media personality Max Armstrong. Max is returning as a parade announcer with Mark Tuttle, DeKalb County Farm Bureau president.
The day starts with a 7 a.m. Farmers Breakfast by the United Neighborhood Center and ends around midnight after a spectacular fireworks show and beer garden featuring bands The Beaux, The Relics, and Whiskey Romance.
Other attractions include tractor pull, tractor, engine, & truck exhibits, Soybean Adventure, sheep herding demo, train rides, drive a tractor experience, The Amazing Tim Adamz kid’s show, train & wagon rides, tractor parade, kiddie tractor pull, petting zoo, vintage baseball, raffles, Lions food concession, craft show-flea market, bags tournament, 4 p.m. pork chop barbeque by Waterman Fire Department, and much more.
